Versante Sud Lago di Como Sentieri is a guide to the trails of one of the most beautiful areas in the world, according to experts: thanks to their geographical position, favourable climate and the beauty of the environment in which they are immersed.

A true oasis of beauty where history, art, culture, nature and food blend perfectly to create a unique harmony. The contours of the mountains sinking directly into the lake and the changing seasons, marked by colours and customs, instil a feeling of peace and sweet nostalgia. A feeling that must be grasped at the slow pace of walking.

This is what the author proposes in his selection of 60 hiking itineraries in the area known as the Western Lario. This shore comprises a mountainous area identified by natural and political borders: to the east the lake, to the west Switzerland, from south to north the city of Como, up to the border of the province itself in the municipality of Sorico. In an area that stretches from the Como-Lugano Pre-Alps to the extreme eastern sector of the Lepontine Alps, the hikes range from the 200 m of the lake to the 2400 m of Sasso Canale.

The itineraries are proposed in numerical sequence, from south to north, so as to allow immediate reference. Every single itinerary has been covered by the author with the intention of effectively relating the landscape and technical characteristics, at the same time the tracks have been recorded with a GPS instrument so as to offer greater usability of the information.
